THE SASDC
WHO WE ARE
The South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC) is an independent, non-profit organisation that exists primarily to address the socio-economic challenges faced in the supply and value chain. We aim to create a diverse and inclusive supply/value chain, in South Africa, that is in alignment with the National Development Plan (NDP). Through the development of a collaborative ecosystem of partners from the private and public sector, we enable access to procurement markets for margenalised Black businesses.
In short, the SASDC helps market leaders buy better from Black Business.
WHAT WE DO
Our mission is to Certify, Capacitate and Connect transaction-ready, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) suppliers. To qualify, suppliers need to be at least 51% Black Owned, Managed and Controlled.
CERTIFY
We implement a standardised rigorous due-diligence certification process. This entails a supplier assessment and vetting process that a Corporation would normally undertake when selecting their new suppliers.
CAPACITATE
We grow our corporate members and certified suppliers network and Best Practices, Tools & Expertise to them in order to support and enhance the implementation of effective Supplier Diversity Development.
CONNECT
We help foster business networks and relationships by connecting corporates with certified Black-owned businesses.

THE SASDC SUPPLIER DIVERSITY ACADEMY
The SASDC Supplier Diversity Academy was established in 2018 to focus and deliver on the business knowledge, acquisition and support goals of the Council. The Academy is tailor-made to support SASDC certified Black businesses and other Black businesses within our eco-system.
The Academy offers corporate capacity building programmes, training and development programmes for entrepreneurs. Through the E-Biz Centre provides a back office support that offers a competitive and cost effective alternative to other products and services out there in the market.
